"Screw-maker Maier" changes into a specialist for precision screw machine parts and technical plastic components

1925 – Karl Maier, qualified toolmaker, quits his steady job at Bosch and dares taking the step to self-employment. He founds the Karl Maier company which is situated in Feuerbach near Stuttgart.

1939 – Karl Maier, that has been a one-man-company for many years, counts in the meantime 20 employees and transfers the company seat to Ditzingen.

1939-1950 – Over the years the product range, which was initially dominated by screws and switches, is increased by NC-profile parts.

1950 – Owing to the high quality turned parts Karl Maier succeeds in making his entry into the automobile industry (Adam Opel, Daimler Chrysler) and into the fields precision engineering, optics, photo- and fluid technology.

1960 – Through the purchase of an external company near Pforzheim, Karl Maier takes up a position in the domain plastic injection moulding.

1966 – The division "technical plastic components" is integrated into the location in Ditzingen, which permits to make full use of the increasing synergetic effects between metal and plastic.

1970 – Due to the existing potentials the plastic production division is permanently growing. In the meantime Karl Maier is equally producing high quality plastic components for the car manufacturers Adam Opel, Daimler Chrysler, Ford and Audi.

1970-1980 – The company builds up its own efficient metallic mould making division. In 1974 Adam Opel AG honours Karl Maier as "Supplier of the Year".

Mitte 80-er – Due to the development of special cable conducts and components for the onboard electric, VW is gained as new customer.

Anfang 90-er – Karl Maier is awarded Q1 by Ford.

Ende 90-er – Karl Maier GmbH & Co. KG establish themselves as popular development suppliers in the automobile industry.

Anfang 2000 – In the metal producing domain the company specializes additionally in the economic production of turned parts from special steel. In the plastic domain a new production hall is put into operation.

Heute – Not only the product range, but also the number of employees is constantly increasing. 180 competent and committed engineers, technicians and qualified employees develop and produce for customers in the whole world high quality components from plastic and all common metals. In almost all vehicles of VW AG components of Karl Maier are an indispensable element of the board network. In every automobile of Adam Opel AG the spare wheels are fastened by components of Karl Maier.
